Montgomery Road Water Line Replacement
Project type
Water Line Replacement
Date
2025
Location
City of Norwood, Ohio
TEC provided grant administration, survey, design, and construction administration services for the Montgomery Road Waterline Replacement Project, a critical infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving water service reliability and supporting future development in the corridor. The project involved replacing waterlines along a heavily traveled urban roadway, requiring careful coordination with local agencies, businesses, and utility providers.
The design included the installation of new waterline, along with hydrant replacements, service reconnections, and appurtenances. TEC’s team developed detailed construction plans that minimized disruption to traffic and surrounding properties, with phasing and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans tailored to the high-volume corridor. Given the proximity to existing utilities and limited right-of-way, the project required precise utility coordination and conflict resolution during design.
TEC also supported the client through permitting, bid phase services, and coordination with the local water authority. Our design team worked closely with the municipal staff to ensure the project met long-term service goals, complied with all applicable standards, and aligned with future roadway improvements along Montgomery Road.
The result was a successful waterline replacement that strengthened the area’s water infrastructure while maintaining access and minimizing impact during construction.
