In 2022, TEC completed an SS4A-compliant Action Plan along Kenwood Road. The purpose of this project was to evaluate the existing conditions, identify “hot spots” of increased crashes, possible causes of crashes and develop countermeasures to mitigate those causes. The area surrounding Kenwood Towne Centre, specifically along Kenwood Road, experiences high crash volumes. The project also included reviewing connections through a future development site, improving access and relieving congestion at Montgomery Road & Kenwood Road. The Kenwood Area Safety Action Plan allows Sycamore Township to be eligible for federal funding opportunities, such as SS4A. TEC has applied for SS4A implementation funding on the Township’s behalf.
