
Basic Function
Under the supervision of a professional surveyor, the technician will perform topographical survey duties including field and topographic survey, deed research and CAD drafting. Additional duties of engineering technician will be performed under the supervision of a professional engineer and will include performing manual or mechanical traffic counts, field traffic data collections and CAD drafting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preform field data collection
Travel to and from various project location throughout the state (jobside transportation provided by company vehicle)
Data transfer and data reduction
Equipment maintenance and procurement as needed
Perform all other duties as assigned

Exposure to field conditions including traversing steep slopes in dense vegetation
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift or move objects over 40 lbs
Agility to bend, stoop, move in, out and around vehicle traffic lanes and roadway shoulders
Close, distance, peripheral and depth perception vision
Ability to recognize risk of electrical shock

Experience
2-5 years of on job experience
Education/Training/Certification
High School Diploma
Vocational / technical course work in Engineering/Surveying (Associates Degree or higher preferred)
Licenses
Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Surveying Technician certification preferred
