ODOT Traffic Count Data Services

In 2017 and 2018, TEC conducted over 1,200 counts in Butler, Clermont and Hamilton Counties. All counts utilized pneumatic tubes and collected speed and classification data for 24-48 hours. Sites ranged from two-lane rural roads to seven-lane major arterials. The data collection process included GIS location and photos of the site location and tube setup to document precise site details. The counts were processed as classification/speed and data was compared to previous counts to check accuracy. Once approved by ODOT, the counts were integrated into ODOT’s Transportation Management System. A GIS system was used to keep record of all counts and count status to ensure efficient deployment and processing.
