Ohio River Bridge Traffic Counts

TEC was retained by OKI Regional Council of Governments to perform comprehensive traffic volume and classification data collection simultaneously for all vehicular bridges crossing the Ohio River in the Greater Cincinnati area. This included data collection on the Combs-Hehl Bridge, Carroll-Cropper Bridge, Brent Spence Bridge, Daniel Carter Beard Bridge, Suspension Bridge, Clay Wade Bailey Bridge, and Taylor Southgate Bridge. This project involved continuous, simultaneous data collection of all bridges for a 30-day period. TEC utilized a combination of micro-wave radars and pneumatic tube counters to collect vehicle classification data based on length and volume by travel lane and direction. In addition, TEC installed Bluetooth devices on all Ohio River Bridges, all regional entry points and several additional locations to track vehicular travel patterns within the OKI region.
